2005 Haunted Lake Hayride Information and Pictures

You all know that a 4-H Youth Development Agent has many different hats to wear…but NEVER in my wildest dream have I thought about paddling out in the Lake on Nov 1 to do what I did today.

Of course, it started raining about the time I figured out how to get the thing out of the sand by myself, without getting wet.

The Haunted Lake Hayride was a huge success.

1582 tickets sold and a record $7,455.00 rose by over 150 really weird volunteers (like myself) that LOVE this kind of stuff!

$3,500.00 goes to the county police departments for “Coats for Kids”

$3,500.00 to 4-H Youth Development

The East Ky Bikers “Toys for Tikes” sold refreshments to raise funds.  We are so grateful for their EXTRA effort taking care of our workers on the trail.  The remainder, $455.00 was given to their project as a special Thank You.

See Pictures below:  The pictures are clickable, for a better view.

The farthest traveled award would be return groups from Louisville and Columbus.  Largest group – 75.  About ½ of our visitors were tourist or out of the county.  This 7th annual ride continued to attract large groups (8-18) of families.  In fact, it was hard to find groups of 2 when I had a small space to fill.  Many times I hard to go with a parent and 2 children or leave the space.

Please let our volunteers,  the Judge,  Mayor,  park workers,  State Park and food providers know how much you enjoyed the ride and their assistance.   We could not have done it without them.
