Lawrence County has many points of interests and events, here are just some
of them.
Attractions
- Fallsburg, Ky. - The Boyhood home of the former Kentucky Governor,
Paul Patton.
- Yatesville Lake State Park - Opened in 1992, it is located on 3
miles west on Rt. 3 from US HWY 23. It
is comprised of 2,300 acres and the lake is 20.6 miles long.
The lake begins at Yatesville Dam and runs along the main stem of
Blaine Creek. The park has a
full service, award-winning marina with 140-boat capacity and three launch
ramps. Yatesville Lake has been
recognized as being one of the best fishing sites for bass, bluegill, and
crappie in Kentucky. Visitors
can further enjoy all kinds of boating and sailing, swimming, hiking,
camping, horseback riding etc. Yatesville
Lake State Park also is home to historical exhibits, and an abundance of
wildlife including the only bald eagles nesting in Eastern Kentucky.

Eagle
Ridge Golf Course is a 18-hole 72-par championship golf course.
Located at Yatesville Lake State Park in Eastern Kentucky, this course is
built on mountainous terrain and features dramatic views. Some holes play
downhill with 100- to 20 -foot changes in elevation. The par 5, No. 4 hole
plays from an elevated tee and is flanked by a creek along the fairway. Hole
No. 13, a par 4, plays from a 200-foot elevation to the green surrounded by a
rock
outcropping and a creek.
- Bridge over Two Rivers, over the Tug & Levisa forks of the Big
Sandy River - This bridge crosses 2 rivers, connects 2 states, 2 school
districts and 2 towns. It's also featured in Ripley's "Believe It
Or Not".
- Needle Dam - In Louisa on the Big Sandy River. It was the 1st
Needle Dam built in the United State.
- Country Music Highway, US 23 - It is a tribute to Eastern Kentucky.
Country Music Stars including Ricky Skaggs from Blaine, Ky., are
honor along this highway.

Fred M. Vinson Birthplace - The Courthouse Square. Mr.
Vinson, was Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court when he die in 1953.
He
was born in the family quarter of the Lawrence County Jail in 1890 where his
father was the jailer.

The
Paveillon at Falls Creek - A Showcase of Stars - The Paveillon
is located at the intersection of U.S. 23 and KY Route 3 in Louisa. When
you first see the Exxon Marketplace at the Falls Creek Paveillon you will
know it's is no ordinary food mart. In addition to housing a full
service gas station/food mart, Baskin-Robbins and Taco Bell, it is also home to the Showcase of Stars. These showcases are located throughout
the Paveillon and feature memorabilia from a host of stars including Elvis,
Loretta Lynn, Ricky Skaggs, Crystal Gayle and others stars from our
region.
- Veteran Memorial - Located at the Yatesville Marina.
